Customer Rating: Summary: Practically useless Comment: Beware: Like me, you might assume that all UK mapping software goes to "street level". Wrong. This version does not include street level mapping. That means that you can't find individual streets - only major roads. It is therefore virutally useless and should be withdrawn from sale. Customer Rating: Summary: AA Route Planner 2008 Comment: I have used an older version of this planner very successfully for some years and felt it was time for an
update.
I found this version difficult to use and couldn't
get the programme to display maps properly, so for me, no good at all. It also failed my ultimate test for a map of GB- it could not find Twice Brewed up near Hadrian's Wall! Customer Rating: Summary: AA route Planner 2008 Comment: AA Route Planner 2008
This is the worst and most cumbersome Route Planner I have ever tried to use. The help files were obscure and not very useful.
I was on verge of returning the product under sale of goods act because it was unfit for purpose. It is necessary to zoom out to very high magnifications to see road numbers. You can't go from Glasgow to Dunoon avoiding car ferry route unless you tediously set intermediate points on map.
If you don't know the roads it would be almost impossible to plan a sensible route-you'd be better buying a cheap road map in local petrol station.
I bought this software to use on my laptop when I am staying in holiday residential caravan and unable to get internet access. Definately useless
